Financial Planning Service, What We Do For You
Mapus Financial Planning Ltd provide independent financial advice to individuals and businesses specifically designed around their individual circumstances.
We will help you to review your existing financial situation and reach a representative assessment of your likely needs. For this, you will need to put aside some time to talk to us - the first half hour consultation is usually free. There is no charge and no obligation initially - we (and you) can assess whether it is worth going ahead.
Depending on your instructions we will then perform a 'needs analysis' having established your current situation, and taking a view of any plans or goals you may have. We will proceed to advise you on anything from a short term financial strategy to a lifetime financial plan, followed up with regular reviews.
1. Getting to know you
To be confident of giving suitable advice we first need to find out about you and your finances. We will then discuss and agree what you need or want to achieve. This initial, but essential part of the overall advice can take time, particularly with new clients, and/or where your affairs are complex.
2. Analysis & Research
We will look in detail at your existing arrangements and at what else is available that may be suitable for you. This includes checking you have enough protection in place for your family and/or business, any investments that may be suitable to achieve the income/growth returns you need, helping to plan for your retirement, reducing your Inheritance Tax etc.
Making changes can mean incurring more charges so we also check whether any of your existing arrangements may still be useful in your overall financial planning, even if these were originally set up for different reasons.
Our fees/ charges are the same whatever plan/product may be selected for you. Therefore our research is unbiased and impartial and we will recommend the most suitable action to take.
3. Recommendations Report/Letter
This is produced specifically for you. It will provide you with all the required information about why we consider any suggested actions are suitable for you. It will include reference to affordability, your attitude to risk and your required timescale.
4. Report Meeting
We will then usually suggest meeting with you again to explain our recommendations to you and to answer any questions you may have.
Where you have agreed to any recommendations we have made these need to put into place. We will obtain and provide all the documentation you need and/or help you to do this (where we cannot do it directly for you). Wherever possible we will deal with any financial institutions on your behalf.
The final stage of the process will be a review of your financial planning strategy to ensure it remains effective over time. Reviews should take place at least annually but can be more frequent, if required.
Important: Advisory Service Clients - we will do all of the above but we will not undertake any on-going reviews of your affairs or any products that we may have set up for you unless you contact us and ask us to do so. If you or we feel that regular reviews would be useful or necessary it is our Financial Planning Service (FPS) that appropriate for you.
